Practice Schedule

All practices consist of chanting, sitting, and a reading or talk.  If you are new to practice and would like an orientation session, please email us at [email protected].

If you are new to Zen you might want to attend our First Tuesday or Third Sunday events.

Wednesday mornings
6:45 am – 7:45 am Zen Meditation/108 Bows/Morning Bell Chant/20-minute sitting

Thursday evenings
6:00 pm – 6:30pm Special chanting
6:30 – 7:20 – 2 short chants, Evening Bell Chant, 25 minutes of meditation and short reading

2nd Saturday mornings
6:30 am to 8:30 pm – This practice consists of 108 prostrations, an hour of chanting and two 25-minute rounds of sitting.  Kong-an interviews will be given by Rebecca Otte, JDPSN.  Sitting a little longer is a good way to strengthen your practice.  Please join us!

Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

  • First Sunday:  Zen Meditation & consulting interviews with Richard Brown, SDT (senior dharma teacher) during practice. Practice may run long.
  • Second Sunday: Dharma Talk after meditation with Q&A afterward.
  • Third Sunday: Practice with Kong-An interviews with Rebecca Ott, JDPSN, during practice. Practice may run long.
  • *Fourth Sunday:  Open Air Zen – Are you interested in Zen but would like to just dip your toe in Zen waters, please join us for this special, easy practice every 3rd Sunday. We will have a lighter practice that includes a little chanting and a shorter meditation.  There will be more teaching, talking and snacks.
