April 26 Sunday, 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm –  Rebecca Otte, JDPSN will present a longer talk titled The Art of Zen Meditation: Understanding Purpose, Practice and Pitfalls
In this talk, which will be open to the public, Rebecca will explore the reasons for doing zen meditation and how it differs from other types of meditation techniques. She will talk about the tools and techniques of zen meditation as well as some of the blind alleys one can experience in their zen journey.

Deep Dive Into Zen – 4 Tuesdays –  May 5th – May 26  6 pm – 7:30 pm – Taught by Rebecca Otte, JDPSN and Richard Brown, SDT in Topeka, KS, this class introduces the basic concepts of Zen Buddhism and the different forms of practice – bowing, chanting, and sitting meditation. Our focus is on helping students to develop a regular practice that will help them bring wisdom and clarity into their lives. Presented only twice a year, the class will be a mixture of lecture, discussion, Q&A, and actual practice. Fee for the class is $35. Please register online. May 16 – One Day Retreat 7:30 am – 4 pm 1-day teaching retreat led by Rebecca Otte, JDPSN, for those who are new to zen or have only been practicing for a year or two as well as for anyone who is interested. Please bring a sack lunch. A microwave is available. The fee is $35. Our registration forms also include payment information, a place to mention food allergies, contact information in case of unexpected changes, emergency contact information, and lodging needs.
