Prairyerth Zen Center is located in Topeka, Kansas and is an affiliate member of the Kwan Um School of Zen. We are a community of people committed to the practice of zen meditation.

What should I wear to the Zen center?
You’ll want to wear something modest and either baggy or stretchy that allows you to move comfortably. Long pants are preferred. Socks are also preferred. more
Can I come and observe, or will I be expected to participate?
You’ll get the most out of the experience if you participate to the extent that you’re able. more
Do you have accommodations for people with disabilities?
Our practices are held at First Congregational Church of Topeka. The areas we use are all on one floor. The restroom is wheelchair accessible. Also, all of our practices are available on Zoom. more
What does it cost to attend the Zen center?
There is no cost to attend the Zen center, although donations are accepted. more
How can I start to practice meditation?
As with any practice, the most important factor in starting Zen meditation is a clear, strong resolve to JUST DO IT. more
Do I have to become Buddhist in order to do Zen meditation?
Zen meditation practices can be used with any other religious practice – a teacher can help guide your Zen meditation to tailor it to s well as enhance your own spiritual growth and beliefs. more
