21 Day Zen Challenge – Would you like support to establish the habit of meditation in your daily life? Then this is the program for you! For these 21 days, we will encourage all of you to have a daily practice of some kind. This may be as simple as sitting in meditation for 10 minutes a day or just saying the 4 Great Vows or perhaps you want to establish a longer, more in-depth practice. The 21 Day Zen Challenge registration form on our website prairyerth.org. Let us know what your commitment is for these 21 days. As a way to help, Rebecca will be zooming her own morning meditation practice and livestreaming on Facebook for 21 days. Richard Brown, SDT will be giving interviews every week on Thursdays and Rebecca Otte, JDPSN will be giving interviews every Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Look for the occasional teaching video and extra teaching. We will have an opening ceremony at the end of the retreat and a closing ceremony at the end. Join us in making zen a part of your life – moment to moment!
Save the Date: Buddha’s Enlightenment Day – Buddha sat under the bodhi tree and when he saw the star he became enlightened to the Buddha Nature. We also have that Buddha Nature – we just need to become silent enough to see it shining through. So – for 5 days, we will be following in the path of the Buddha. Starting Tuesday December 6th at 6:30 pm with special chanting, a short sit and encouragement talk. Then we will sit 8am – 5pm daily from Wednesday through Saturday. If you are going to be sitting over the lunch hour, bring a brown bag lunch. This retreat is for everyone to come and go as they need to. If you can only sit an hour a day, then come for that hour. If you can sit everyday all day then that is wonderful. No registration is necessary and the fee is by donation only. Give what you feel is right.
